About Us

Our History: I’ve always had a love for the smell of BBQ since I had one uncle who was a pit master at Skeets back in the day. I also had another uncle who I stayed with as a kid that would let me season the meat occasionally and fire up the grill. 

 

The business history of Poppa Q’S started November 2022, however the history of our barbecuing goes back as far as the early 90’s being a novice. As a novice in 1999 I entered a local supermarket BBQ contest sponsored by the Omaha BBQ Society and placed 2nd place in the chicken category and the next year took 1st place. I’ve never competed since. I’m not sure why I never competed again however I can tell you that I love to see people smile when they smell and taste our BBQ. What better way to serve God and use the gift he gave me than to serve good food to all people.
